Severe Weather: blizzard in northern Netherlands

From yesterday afternoon onward The Netherlands have to deal with strong winds and snow at times. Winds caused blizzardlike conditions and drifting snow, especially in eastern and northern parts of the country. KNMI issued a blizzard warning for Drenthe, Groningen, Friesland and Noord-Holland, as roads could get blocked by snow dunes. The warning for Drenthe was suspended this morning, but continues for the other three provinces. I called my dad, asking about the situation in Drenthe, but he didn't sound to worried. They will go out this afternoon, so I reccon I will receive some photos later on.
He said it wasn't as bad as during the blizzard of February 1979. Here's a picture from that year showing me with a snow dune:

A new dump of snow is still possible today, making travelling quite difficult.
Here's last nights weather synopsis, provided by UKMO:

In Utrecht we had some strong winds as well yesterday, but overall it wasn't as bad as some it could have been. Snowfall was mostly light and flakes were rather small, resulting in just a minor reduction in visibility and hardly any snow dunes:

This morning I went out to shoot some pictures with new snow falling. Here's a quick overview:

More to come!
